Canandaigua, NY, October 30, 2014: Chemung County Sheriff and candidate for Lieutenant Governor, Christopher Moss will be officiating “The Shot Heard Around New York” at 12:00 noon at the Canandaigua Sportsmen’s Club on Saturday, November 1st.
The event, coordinated throughout New York State, is in support of 2nd Amendment rights and to demonstrate opposition to the New York’s Safe Act.
According to Club President, Steve Roat, “Sheriff Moss will speak to the importance of this election to the shooting sports. It is going to be really important to those of us that value our 2nd Amendment rights to get out and vote for candidates that support our freedom to bear arms responsibly. Candidates like Sheriff Moss, his running mate Westchester County Executive and candidate for Governor, Rob Astorino, and local candidates, Brian Kolb and Rich Funke are all supporters of the shooting sports. We need to support their bid for state government if we hope to stop the ever present threat to our gun rights.”
This is a shotgun only event with the Canandaigua Sportsmen’s Club providing the ammunition for all that want to participate. This event will be supervised by the club’s Range Safety Officer, Dan Pitler, to ensure all safety requirements are followed. “There will be one shot fired, in unison, by each shooter at exactly noon. Shooters will need to come the club no later than 11:45 to prepare for the event. ” says Roat.
Joining Sheriff Moss will be Steve Aldstadt, President of SCOPE. SCOPE, Shooters Committee on Political Education, is a statewide organization dedicated to preserving the 2nd Amendment rights for all residents of New York State.
