According to a new survey, young adults aged 40 and below have a negative opinion about the current and future leadership of the nation.
The majority of the young Americans are either angry or frustrated with the politicians in Washington. Democrats are more frustrated; republicans are angry while the independents are divided.
Half of the respondents say that Biden’s administration isn’t working. They believe that most of the policies set out by him do not positively impact their lives. They believe that the politicians are focusing on the rich people.
The young Americans believe that if more youths run for office, they will change their leadership. They will implement policies that focus more on the youth, giving them the chance to grow.
Only a few individuals said they believe the current government is doing enough for them from the survey.
In the recent elections, the number of youth voters has risen tremendously. The survey also shows that a large number of the youths voted for Biden compared to those who voted for Trump. It shows that votes from the youth can determine who wins in an election.
The survey was conducted from 2nd – 6th January. A total of 936 people participated, ranging from 17-39. Most people believe that Obama’s leadership and administration were effective and worked.
The politicians need to change how they address people and issues, implement policies that involve the youth, and stop inciting people. If they do not work on such issues, the young Americans will be forced to take up those spaces.
