Did Florida Georgia Line Break Up Because Of Politics? Find Out

Did Florida Georgia Line Break Up Because Of Politics? Public opinion has held that the country duo would end their relationship since their infamous altercation in 2020.

Since his presidency, Tyler Hubbard has been an ardent opponent of Donald Trump. Concurrently, Brian Kelley shifted his allegiance to the opposing faction.

A few days after the event that transpired in 2020, Hubbard unfollowed his duo companion on IG.

“I unfollowed Brian Kelley for a few days throughout the election and everything else occurred,” said Hubbard. Tyler also missed the 2020 Country Music Association Awards.

2021 marked the debut of Brian Kelley as a solo artist. Tim McGraw and Tyler Hubbard collaborated on the single “Undivided.” So what happened between the two?

Did Florida Georgia Line Break Up Because Of Politics?

No, Florida and Georgia claimed politics was not the reason for their break up. Brian stated then that they were “taking a pause” rather than “breaking up.”

A few months later, he implied that they had no intention of continuing to collaborate following the conclusion of their summer 2022 tour.

“I believe we have ten to eleven more performances this year.” In a radio interview in May 2022, Brian stated, “We will be on hiatus after that; therefore, if you wish to see us, now is the year to do so.”

Differences in Political Opinions Between The Duo

Tyler stated that he supported Vice President Kamala Harris and President Joe Biden in their bid to defeat former President Donald Trump in the 2020 election.

However, he has never revealed his political affiliation as a Democrat. His wife, Hayley Hubbard, also expressed her enthusiasm regarding the Biden/Harris ticket via social media. She even took to Instagram to express her gratitude to the vice president for her victory.

Tyler maintained a steadfast dissent towards Trump throughout his tenure in office. Some of his thoughts via Twitter, “Does anyone have any helpful hints for describing the current state of the nation in which your child was born?”

The other former member of the Florida-Georgia Line, Brian Kelley, was an ardent supporter of Trump during his presidency. An altercation ensued among the former members of the band.

The Band Drama During Election Period

The Florida Georgia Line experienced a seismic shift due to political affiliations in 2020.

Hubbard Tyler and his wife, Hayley Hubbard, ceased following Kelley Brian on social media due to their disagreement with his political views.

Tyler Hubbard said Kelley and his spouse, Brittney Kelley, are not in favor of Joe Biden or Kamala Harris for vice president.

“Someone emailed me two days ago that BK and I were terminating our relationship. I was astounded; I had no idea that.”

According to Hubbard’s statement on Thursday’s episode of SiriusXM’s Exit 209 with Storme Warren, “I unfollowed BK for a few days during this political, you know, election and everything.”

“I called him and expressed my affection for him. I told him, at this moment, I like you considerably more in person than your stories. Just doing so explains why I am unfollowing you: I am simply going to. Nothing personal.

You remain of interest to me. You have my eternal affection as my brother. Simply put, I did not want to see it on Instagram every single time. As a result, the matter did not warrant significant concern.”

Hubbard, who has previously expressed negative sentiments toward President Trump, stated that the two were refined during the interview. Nonetheless, Kelley was present with him.

“We were on the phone yesterday showcasing the final touches of our album, working on distributing tour towns as quickly as possible, and making a few announcements,” Kelley explained.

Hubbard’s positive COVID-19 test result necessitated his withdrawal from the Country Music Association Awards then. Additionally, he stated that the Grammy-nominated group is formidable after ten years of hard work.

“Indeed, it is critical to mention that BK and I have collaborated. We’ve attended therapy and sat together, and there have been times when we’ve both wanted to murder each other,” he added.

“By the end, we were both shaking hands. Because we are brothers, and brothers act as such. Not all brothers get along with one another.

Although there were occasions when we harbored intentions to harm one another, our primary emotion was love.”

His statement indicated that the undertaking had enhanced their bond. “We prioritize it because we recognize the significance of our friendship and the deep affection that unites us.

Even during difficult circumstances, years of diligent effort have strengthened us as brothers, companions, and friends. Therefore, we are extremely grateful,” he stated.

Kelley also commented, “We are going full WWE on this. I might disregard BK again tomorrow just to keep the media talking about it,” joked Hubbard.

During his presentation, Hubbard also compared resolving political disagreements to coping with family members who hold divergent views. “We have always maintained the idea that we are exceptionally balanced.

Although we differ considerably, we are also similar in thinking virtually the same way. Constantly, politics is divided.

A left and a right exist, but no center,” he declared. “Politics is about dividing, although a middle ground may exist.”

“We might have different thoughts, points of view, or perceptions of our leaders when it comes to politics, but in that regard, we share many thoughts and emotions.

We both believe in God and that he controls Joe Biden and Donald Trump. Due to our conviction that Jesus is supreme, we cast our votes to support Him and our global community.”

In anticipation of the release of their fifth studio album, Hubbard and Kelley have just signed a multi-year contract with Live Nation for North American tour dates.

Their Show in Minnesota Was Rumored To Be Their Last

Following an earlier declaration of hiatus in 2022, the country duo Florida Georgia Line performed their final performance at the Minnesota State Fair on August 31, 2022.

Tyler Hubbard and Brian Kelley announced their “pause” in February. However, rumors of a separation between Florida and Georgia Line have been circulating since 2020, when the members publicly argued about the election.

Hubbard vehemently opposed President Trump and his spouse Hayley, supported Vice President Kamala Harris.

Kelley appeared to support the former president on the contrary. Hubbard and his spouse ultimately unfollowed their Instagram followership of Kelley. Hubbard stated he was not interested in reading Kelley’s Trump-related remarks.

Kelley and Hubbard addressed the audience at the Minnesota State Fair, saying, “You’ve assisted us in pursuing this ludicrous ambition of penning songs, performing live, and hoping that someone will sit and listen.”

They expressed, “We are eagerly anticipating the forthcoming developments. Although we anticipate a thrilling sequel, we must first share this moment with you.”

Following the conclusion of “Cruise,” the song that propelled them to prominence in 2012, Hubbard and Kelley parted ways on opposite sides of the stage while exchanging embraces.

In July 2022, Hubbard stated on the Bobby Bones podcast that the sole rationale behind their separation was to allow each individual to pursue professional endeavors. “There is no ill blood between them,” he continued. The two “could consider getting back together in ten to fifteen years,” according to Hubbard.

Over a decade and fifty records, Florida Georgia Line has sold more than five million copies. Thirteen of their tracks peaked at number one between 2012 and 2020.

The Duo’s Timeline

2020

Hayley unfollowed her husband’s bandmate in November 2020, which put Tyler’s wife in the loop when he unfollowed Brian in November 2020.

Brittney fueled the controversy by publishing an Instagram Stories series of enigmatic quotations.

“True friends do not always agree with [you] but respect your freedom to hold an opinion.”

Later that day, in an Instagram video, Brittney stated, “Many individuals need to educate themselves on the concepts of democracy and unity.” Tyler eventually followed Brian back once more amidst the commotion.

2022

“Taking a hiatus” sounds preferable to “breaking up,” Tyler stated in February 2022 to People. In May 2022, several months later, he released his debut solo single, titled “5 Foot 9.”

Tyler discussed on The Storme Warren Show in June the reasons he desired to pursue a career in solo music. At this time, rumors circulated that his band had disbanded.

Personal expression is a crucial component of it. He stated, “However, as you said, being a part of a band or brand confines you and prevents you from delving too deeply into your existence.

So that you may establish connections with others, albeit to a limited extent, on the condition that you maintain reverence for them.

Additionally, it is prudent to consider that not all ensemble members are experiencing the same phase of life as you are.

And as such, you cannot…Following a decade of limited depth capabilities, this development enables us to delve deeper, an advancement that I believe is both advantageous and stimulating.”

They attended the last Florida Georgia Line performance on August 31 at the Minnesota State Fair. “Everyone, thank you for allowing us to pursue this irrational ambition of penning tunes and performing live performances with the hope that someone will pay attention.

Tyler stated, “To us, it signifies everything.” Additionally, he noted that the incident marked “the conclusion of an extraordinary and magnificent chapter” in his life and that of Brian.

“Regarding the future, we are filled with tremendous anticipation. However, as exciting as that may be, we must first savor this experience with you.”
