As the COVID-19 cases reported have dropped, some states have lifted the masking mandate. Following this, the “ U.S Centers for Disease Control and Prevention” eased the masking mandate on cruise ships.
The “Carnival Cruise Line” intends to ease the wearing of masks on the ship. According to the company, wearing masks will be optional for travelers beginning March 1st. They added that although they recommend travelers to mask, it will not be a must for anyone to mask up.
However, they said that travelers would be required to wear masks in some instances. “There may, however, be certain venues and events where masks will be required,” the company said in a statement.
Carnival will also be offering flexible covid testing. Guests do not have to worry because they will be offering free testing and other medical requirements. The cruise company has stated that children aged five years will sail without exemption or vaccine.
Other cruise companies that have eased the mask mandate include “Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd” and “Theme Park Disney World.”
After the rapid spread of the Omicron variant in December 2021, the “CDC” raised. In December 2021, “CDC” raised the covid-19 warning to level 4. The companies called off some trips because of the danger posed by the omicron variant.
“COVID-19 infections are decreasing in the United States, with 168,485 new infections reported on average each day, or about 21% of the peak, with the highest daily average reported on January 14th”. It is according to a report in January.
Cruising companies believe that lifting the mask mandate will favor many people. They say easing the mask mandate for cruise travelers is a stride in the ideal direction. “We believe we are past COVID-19 in terms of the overall impact on our business,” said Jason Liberty.
