“I Will Pardon and Treat People Fairly,” Trump Says

On Sunday, Donald Trump joked that he would pardon the people charged with attacking the U.S capitol on January 6, 2021.

The attack aimed at disrupting Biden’s victory ceremony. The rioters damaged property worth more than $1.5 million. It is according to Capitol’s architect.

However, he said he would only pardon them if he won the 2024 presidential elections. Trump made the joke in a campaign rally in Texas. He believes that the rioters did not commit a big crime and were against the criminal prosecutions they received.

“If I run and if I win, we will treat those people from January 6 fairly. We will treat them fairly,” Trump said.

The Republicans argue that the rioters need to be pardoned and the events of that day erased. Ron DeSantis, Florida Gov, says that people are trying to smear trumps supporters by commemorating the Capitol riot.

“It’s a disgrace. It’s a disgrace,” Trump said. The Department of Justice charged more than seven hundred people regarding the Capitol riot attack.

Trump also claimed that the New York prosecutors are using their power wrongfully. They are using the capital attack to investigate his businesses. He said he would lead the biggest protest if the prosecutors wrongfully and illegally interfered with his companies.

Alvin Bragg Jr, Manhattan district attorney, has sworn to concentrate on investigating Trump’s business ventures. The two prosecutors are black, and Trump called them racists.

“These prosecutors are vicious, horrible people. They’re racists, and they’re very sick — they’re mentally sick,” he said. “They’re going after me without any protection of my rights from the Supreme Court or most other courts. In reality, they’re not after me. They’re after you.”
